Self Harm is on the Increase, or is it?

Contacts and new customers alike are amazed at the extent of self harm amongst young people and that the age at which children are self harming is getting young er and younger.

What is going on here? Is it that all of a sudden all these young people and adults have just decided to self harm or is that this is a situation that has been around for many decades but people are more willing to discuss it now and seek help now.

Before they may have been ridiculed or sectioned. Today, there are different remedies, though many professionals are unsure as to how to deal with and treat someone who self harms, and that also includes the medical profession.
